Join Our Team as a SENDCo at a New Secondary School! Are you a highly effective and experienced SENDCo looking for a unique opportunity to shape the future of a brand-new secondary school? We're opening our doors in September 2025 and are seeking a passionate leader to join us in a full-time, permanent position. Job Responsibility:

  • Promoting best practices in teaching and learning for students with diverse needs
  • Developing and implementing a high-quality curriculum tailored to our students
  • Managing and coordinating all aspects of SEND provision, ensuring excellence across the board
  • Collaborating effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies to create a supportive environment
  • Overseeing the identification of meaningful post-16 destinations and implementing successful transition plans
  • Advising and assisting school leadership on the strategic development of SEN policy and provision

Requirements:

  • QTS or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Status or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills)
  • A proven track record of excellence in teaching within a SEND environment
  • Experience in leading and managing teams
  • Strong communication skills, essential for effective collaboration
  • The ability to manage complex situations, resolve conflicts, and build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Accredited training in specific areas of special education (e.g., Autism, Dyslexia)
  • A leadership/management qualification (NPQSL/H/SENDCo or willingness to achieve within 2 years)
