Job Description:

Compass Associates is excited to be collaborating alongside one of the UK’s leading providers of high-quality Specialist Education and Children’s Care. Their services support children with a variety of emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties, utilising a therapeutic approach rooted to create a safe and nurturing environment. Together, we are looking for a SENCo to join their established Specialist SEMH School in Shrewsbury.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinating daily SEND support and provision to pupils
  • Liaising with parents and external agencies
  • Managing resources
  • Advocating for students

Requirements:

  • Experienced practitioner with NASENCO qualification or equivalent experience
  • Must hold QTS
  • Primary training preferred, expertise in managing multiple local authorities and EHCP processes
  • Great at relationship building with the young pupils
  • Great at managing challenging behaviour
  • Collaborative and fun approach
  • Significant experience supporting learners with SEMH needs, preferably in a trauma-informed environment
