We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Trainee CABAS Teacher) to join a specialist team, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential through behaviour-based instruction and positive reinforcement. SEN Teaching Assistant Hours: 36.75 hours per week (full-time) Working Pattern: Monday-Friday (part-time options available - must include Tuesday) Holiday: 56 days school holidays + bank holidays About the Role: ... You will work within small classes, supporting pupils 1:1 and in groups, delivering structured teaching sessions tailored to individual learning needs. Using specialised support plans, you will help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive environment.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver teaching and support based on individualised curriculum plans
Plan and lead activities to promote learning, communication, and development
Use behaviour-based teaching strategies to support progress
Assist with personal care, including toileting and feeding where required
Support playtime, school activities, and off-site trips
Help prepare and maintain teaching materials
Attend meetings and contribute to team collaboration
Engage in ongoing training and professional development
Requirements:
Experience (paid, personal, or voluntary) working with children and disabilities
GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
Confidence supporting children with challenging behaviour
Willingness to provide personal care
Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office)
A positive, proactive attitude and strong teamwork skills
