Job Description

A school and college in Burgess Hill is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a positive and friendly community, committed to providing individualised care and learning for students aged 2 to 19, including those with autism. Job Responsibility

  • Provide individualised care and learning support to students, acting as a Pupil Champion for their academic, social, emotional, and personal care needs
  • Collaborate with staff and therapists to deliver a highly personalised curriculum
  • Foster an inclusive community where students feel happy and supported
  • Contribute to an environment that encourages all students to achieve their full potential and makes learning exciting and accessible

Requirements

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Level 2/Grade C or above)
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs, especially those with autism, and a desire to make a real impact
  • An empathetic, understanding, and patient approach
  • A collaborative team player, eager to work alongside teachers and therapists
  • A proactive learner, keen to develop new skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Access to your own transport
