Job Description:

Shape the Future: SEN Teaching Assistant. Are you looking for a career that offers more than just a paycheck? We are seeking purpose-driven individuals to join our brand-new SEND Secondary School in Chaldon, Surrey. Having opened its doors in September 2025, this is a unique opportunity to be part of a founding team dedicated to supporting students aged 11-16. Our students require specialised support with social communication and emotional regulation, typically associated with Autism. If you are empathetic, resilient, and ready to launch a career in special education, we want to hear from you.

Job Responsibility:

  • Delivering tailored activities that reinforce key concepts under teacher guidance
  • Adapting your responses to help students manage their behaviour and concentration levels
  • Taking a lead role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every pupil
  • Promoting independence and supporting the 'Waking Day Curriculum' to help students thrive beyond the classroom

Requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English (Level 2)
  • Prepared for the physical demands of a busy school day
  • Competent ICT skills and a creative approach to problem-solving
  • Belief in equality, diversity, and putting the individual needs of the child first

Nice to have:

  • Level 2 award in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • Background in care or youth work
