Job Description:

Are you a compassionate, patient individual who believes that every child, regardless of their barriers, deserves an inspiring education? Join our specialist network as an SEN Teaching Assistant and provide the vital support needed to help students with additional needs thrive.

Job Responsibility:

  • Personalised Learning: Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities to meet the specific sensory and cognitive needs of the student
  • Communication Support: Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices to give every child a voice
  • Emotional Regulation: Act as a calm consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies to support the student's wellbeing
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development and safety

Requirements:

  • Are Exceptionally Patient
  • Have Relevant Experience: This could be from a school, care setting, personal experience with family, or volunteering with SEND charities
  • Are a Team Player
  • Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
