A fantastic, high-achieving Primary School in the Borough of Lewisham are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant – Unqualified to join their team ASAP to support students until at least the end of the academic year in July 2025. This community-led school pride themselves on being a safe and happy place for all children to find their feet, feel included and excel. An excellent team of Teaching Staff and Graduate Teaching Assistants deliver a bespoke curriculum designed to provide children with all the knowledge that they need, utilising specialist facilities to provide individualised support.
Job Responsibility:
Working with students across Reception – Year 6 in and out of lessons
Supporting Class Teachers to deliver lesson material
Assisting students with working towards their learning targets in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
Providing additional help to pupils with SEND/SEMH needs
Requirements:
A 2:1 or 1st Class Degree from a reputable University and strong academics across the board
Previous child-based experience and a keen interest in working with SEND
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A desire to pursue a career working with children and young people
Nice to have:
Previous experience working with SEND/SEMH needs
