Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant | Specialist Support | Local SEND Settings. Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. Are you a compassionate, patient individual who believes that every child, regardless of their barriers, deserves an inspiring education? Join our specialist network as an SEN Teaching Assistant and provide the vital support needed to help students with additional needs thrive. We are seeking dedicated SEND Specialists to work with students across all ages who have a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

Job Responsibility

  • Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities to meet specific sensory and cognitive needs of the student
  • Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices
  • Act as a calm consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists

Requirements

  • Exceptionally Patient
  • Relevant Experience in school, care setting, personal experience with family, or volunteering with SEND charities
  • Team Player
  • Committed, holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) and dedicated to Safeguarding
