Job Description:

Are you an empathetic and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1:1 support role? We are seeking a full-time, temporary Teaching Assistant to provide focused, individual support to a specific child within our welcoming primary school environment. This is a unique opportunity to make a profound and immediate impact on a pupil's learning journey and well-being.

Job Responsibility:

Implementing the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan
Adapting activities as necessary
Assisting in the management of any specific learning, communication, or emotional needs
Working closely with the class teacher and the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to track progress
Fostering independence
Ensuring the child is fully included in school life
Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
Deliver targeted intervention sessions
Assist the pupil in navigating social and emotional situations
Help monitor and record the pupil's progress and behaviour
Prepare resources specific to the pupil's learning needs

Requirements:

Has previous experience working with primary-aged children with special educational needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, communication difficulties, or specific learning needs)
Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both with the pupil and with school staff/parents
Is able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Is committed to promoting the highest levels of inclusion and independence for the pupil
Holds relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning or special educational needs (desirable)
