Job Description:

We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant school for children aged 7-19 with autism spectrum conditions. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference while benefiting from a collaborative environment, small class sizes, and excellent facilities. Key duties include individualized support, collaboration with the class teacher, and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.

Job Responsibility:

Provide support to students in the classroom: Assist teachers with lessons, provide individualised support, and help create a positive learning environment
Collaborate with the class teacher: Work closely with the teacher to implement personalized learning plans and ensure each student's needs are met
Support students with a range of needs: Provide help with activities, behaviour management, and personal care as required
Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere: Promote a sense of safety, belonging, and well-being
Learn and grow: Commitment to ongoing professional development and training, including QTS and HLTA opportunities

Requirements:

A valid DBS check
A full driving licence (preferred)
Passion for working with children with autism spectrum conditions
Patience, caring, and enthusiasm about supporting learners
Experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
Experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
Experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)
No GCSE in English and Maths required
