Job Description:

We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant school for children aged 7-19 with autism spectrum conditions. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference while benefiting from a collaborative environment, small class sizes, and excellent facilities. Key duties include individualized support, collaboration with the class teacher, and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support to students in the classroom: Assist teachers with lessons, provide individualised support, and help create a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the class teacher: Work closely with the teacher to implement personalized learning plans and ensure each student's needs are met
  • Support students with a range of needs: Provide help with activities, behaviour management, and personal care as required
  • Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere: Promote a sense of safety, belonging, and well-being
  • Learn and grow: Commitment to ongoing professional development and training, including QTS and HLTA opportunities

Requirements:

  • A valid DBS check
  • A full driving licence (preferred)
  • Passion for working with children with autism spectrum conditions
  • Patience, caring, and enthusiasm about supporting learners
  • Experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
  • Experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
  • Experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)
  • No GCSE in English and Maths required
