We are recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for daily and long-term roles at wonderful specialist schools across Peterborough and the surrounding area. This role is ideal for experienced SEND professionals, care or support workers looking to transition into a school environment, or individuals with a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting children with complex needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Collaborate effectively with class teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Build a safe, positive rapport with pupils

Requirements

  • A patient, nurturing, and robust nature-specialist environments require high emotional resilience and a calm, reassuring demeanour
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (experience with non-verbal communication, sensory processing, or positive behaviour de-escalation strategies is highly valued)
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with class teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • An adaptable mindset, ready to step into different classrooms and quickly build a safe, positive rapport with pupils
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
