Job Responsibility

  • Provide targeted support to students with diverse special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and those recovering from brain injury
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies, fostering a positive and safe learning environment
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the unique needs of nonverbal learners, ensuring their engagement and progress
  • Work hand-in-hand with teachers and other specialists to create cohesive and supportive learning plans
  • Maintain meticulous records of student development, celebrating their achievements and tracking progress
  • Offer personal care and hygiene assistance with dignity and respect, as required
  • Embrace continuous learning through on-the-job training and professional development opportunities
  • Actively contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: At least 6 month to 1 year of experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism, brain injury, and complex needs
  • Behavior Management Expertise: A demonstrated ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors and adapt teaching strategies for nonverbal learners
  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, staff, and parents
  • Patience & Empathy: A true understanding and commitment to supporting students with disabilities
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: A positive, can-do attitude ready to tackle challenges creatively
  • Relevant Qualifications (Advantageous): Pass grade in GCSE Maths and English
