Job Description:

Support young people with special educational needs; work in a beautiful West Sussex countryside setting; engage with pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other SEN conditions; collaborate with a supportive and experienced team; provide holistic support and prepare students for GCSEs and vocational goals

Job Responsibility:

Provide support to students in the classroom
assist teachers with lessons
provide individualised support
help create a positive learning environment
collaborate with the class teacher
work closely to implement personalized learning plans
ensure student needs are met
provide help with activities, behaviour management, and personal care
create a positive and encouraging atmosphere
promote safety, belonging, and well-being
learn and grow through professional development and training

Requirements:

A valid DBS check
a full driving licence (preferred)
passion for supporting children with special needs
patience, caring, and enthusiasm for supporting learners
experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)

Nice to have:

Experience working in children's homes or EYFS
experience with PECs or other communication tools
experience with speech & language or BSL
