Job Description:

Join a leading independent specialist school dedicated to empowering pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support to our students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering dynamic and engaging lessons
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to student needs
  • Monitor student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Cultivate a safe, supportive, and positive classroom atmosphere
  • Collaborate effectively with a talented and passionate teaching team
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families
  • Contribute to our positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements:

  • A valid UK driving licence is essential
  • Experience supporting students with SEN is preferred
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

  • Background in youth work
  • Experience in administering medication
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorders
  • Experience with learning difficulties
  • Experience with social emotional mental health
  • Manual handling
  • Mentor experience
