Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The role will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. As an SEN TA, you will work closely with class teachers and therapists to support the individual learning, communication, and sensory needs of pupils. You will help to create a safe, structured, and engaging environment that promotes independence and wellbeing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in learning activities
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour support plans, and therapy programmes as directed
  • Promote positive relationships, emotional regulation, and social communication skills
  • Adapt activities and resources to suit individual learning styles and sensory needs
  • Support with personal care and mobility where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure consistency of support

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly Autism, communication difficulties, and/or trauma
  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
