Job Description:

We are currently seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a small and supportive SEN school based in the Newquay/Mid Cornwall area. This rewarding ongoing role involves supporting children within EYFS and Year 1 who have a range of special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to help create a positive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

Job Responsibility:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Support children with communication, emotional, social, and learning development
Assist with classroom activities and adapted learning tasks
Help promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
Support children with personal care where required
Encourage independence, confidence, and participation throughout the school day

Requirements:

Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within EYFS or KS1
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to adapt to individual pupil needs
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Relevant TA qualifications or experience are desirable but not essential
