We are seeking a proactive and empathetic Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team in a fantastic school located in Knowsley. This is a long-term, full-time position starting this September, offering the perfect opportunity for you to make a significant and positive impact on the lives of students.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver one-on-one and small-group assistance to students with a range of special educational needs, both within the classroom and during dedicated sessions
Actively support student engagement, self-esteem, and personal growth, ensuring their academic and emotional needs are met
Accurately document and track student progress, behavior, and key milestones to inform future support strategies
Work closely with class teachers, parents, and external professionals (e.g., therapists, social workers) to create a cohesive and supportive network for each student
Requirements:
A minimum of 6 months of recent experience working as an SEN teaching assistant or a similar role within a UK classroom setting
A valid and up-to-date Enhanced DBS check, preferably registered with the Update Service
The legal right to work in the UK
