Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Key Stages: EYFS, KS1 Location: Saltash, Cornwall Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm Contract: Temp to Perm Start Date: ASAP! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Saltash. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to become a permanent member of staff following a successful placement period. The role will involve supporting pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1), working closely with class teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support that meets each child’s individual needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs Assist in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within EYFS or KS1 (not essential) A patient, caring, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential) What We Offer: A supportive and friendly school environment Opportunity for a permanent position Ongoing professional development Competitive rates of pay If you are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young children with special educational needs, we would love to hear from you!
