Job Description

We are currently looking for a two SEN teaching assistants to join a really lovely school in Barnet to support a pupil with SEN on a 1 to 1 basis.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting a pupil with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Support in all aspects of learning, playing and interacting with peers and the wider school community

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with special needs in other settings
  • Good support from the school’s SEND coordinator and class teachers
  • Training will be given

  • Age-Appropriate Support: Adapt approach to support children developing foundational skills in Primary, through to young adults preparing for life after school
  • Proactive Behaviour Management: Utilise positive strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
  • Collaboration: Monitor progress and provide detailed feedback to teachers, the SENCo, and external agencies like Educational Psychologists
  • Pastoral Care: Support emotional well-being and assist with personal care or mobility where required (full training provided)
