Job Description

Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. Join our specialist network as an SEN Teaching Assistant and provide the vital support needed to help students with additional needs thrive.

Job Responsibility

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to make learning accessible, using sensory play, visual timetables, and personalised communication tools
  • Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities to meet the specific sensory and cognitive needs of the student
  • Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices
  • Act as a calm consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
  • Exceptional patience
  • Relevant experience from a school, care setting, personal experience with family, or volunteering with SEND charities
  • Team player
  • Committed to Safeguarding
