We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school team in Cranleigh. This is a highly rewarding role within the school's Inclusion department, focusing on students aged 11-16 with complex learning and emotional needs. This is a long-term to permanent position, offering you the stability of a consistent role with the opportunity to transition into a permanent contract.
Job Responsibility:
Implement EHCPs and adapt curriculum resources to meet individual student targets
Provide high-quality 1-to-1 or small-group support to foster academic and social growth
Help students build the confidence and "life-ready" skills they need for adulthood
Use proactive de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
Proven experience working within a school setting
Prior experience supporting pupils with specific and complex SEN
Exceptional patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
Available for an immediate start and able to work 5 days a week during term time
