Job Description:

We are seeking a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs and SEMH challenges in a Boston Spa school. This permanent opportunity is ideal for someone experienced in behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.

Job Responsibility:

  • 1:1 classroom support
  • De-escalation and behaviour intervention
  • Supporting structured routines
  • Encouraging independence
  • Support pupils with complex needs and SEMH challenges

Requirements:

  • Previous SEN/SEMH experience
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Patience
  • Consistency
  • Dedication

Nice to have:

  • Ability to track progression in attainment
  • Background in youth work
  • Building relationships
  • Classroom management
  • Communication
  • De-escalation techniques
  • Empathy
  • Experience in administering medication
