We are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Newmarket. This full-time role is designed for a professional who views 'behaviour as a form of communication' and is dedicated to fostering a supportive, low-arousal environment. You will be working with children and young people with a variety of needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and sensory processing differences.
Job Responsibility:
Bespoke Learning Support: Adapt classroom activities into accessible, 'small-step' tasks
Communication Facilitation: Utilise tools such as Makaton, PECS, or visual timetables
Emotional Co-Regulation: Identify early signs of dysregulation and use proactive strategies
EHCP Progress Monitoring: Support the Class Teacher by observing and documenting student achievements
Inclusive Care: Assist with personal care, mobility, and mealtime routines
