We are currently recruiting dedicated SEN TAs to join a multi-site Alternative Provision in Plymouth. This specialised environment supports vulnerable young people who have faced barriers to mainstream education. With both Primary and Secondary sites, we have the flexibility to match you with the age group that best fits your skill set.
Job Responsibility
1:1 & Group Support: Deliver tailored academic and emotional support to pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, ASD, ADHD, and trauma
Behaviour Management: Utilise positive de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour and encourage emotional regulation
Engagement: Assist class teachers in creating an inclusive, high-engagement learning environment that boosts student confidence
Progress Tracking: Work alongside the school's multidisciplinary team to monitor and record pupil development and milestones
Requirements
Proven experience working with children or young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH, or challenging behaviours. (Experience in youth work, residential care, or sports coaching is also highly valued)
High emotional intelligence, resilience, patience, and the ability to build trust quickly
Ability to commit to consistent school hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
Must hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process a new one through Randstad
