Job Description:

SEN Teaching Assistant Required - Wirral SEN School. A welcoming SEN school in Wirral is urgently seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This is a highly valued full-time, long-term opportunity to deliver essential support to students with diverse learning needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide bespoke, one-on-one, and small-group assistance to pupils with diagnosed SEN, tailoring educational methods to meet their specific requirements
  • Act as a pivotal collaborator, integrating seamlessly with the classroom teacher and wider support team to foster an environment of total inclusion
  • Systematically observe and document student development, providing crucial, detailed feedback on progress to inform future support planning for staff and parents
  • Motivate and encourage students to build independence, self-confidence, and a passion for learning

Requirements:

  • A minimum of six months demonstrable experience as a Teaching Assistant within a UK educational setting
  • Prior experience supporting children with SEN is highly advantageous and strongly preferred
  • Possession of a current Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or immediate willingness to apply for one
  • Exceptional patience, resilient communication skills, and an enthusiastic, solution-focused approach to challenges
  • Full-time availability for an immediate, long-term placement
