Job Description:

Through Special School, located in West Sussex, is seeking SEN Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting young people with special needs in an exceptional learning environment. The school provides an inclusive setting and specializes in supporting students with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH difficulties. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and meaningful contributions to the academic and personal success of students.

Job Responsibility:

Provide support to students in the classroom: Assist teachers with lessons, provide individualised support, and help create a positive learning environment
Collaborate with the class teacher: Work closely with the teacher to implement personalized learning plans and ensure each student's needs are met
Support students with a range of needs: Provide help with activities, behaviour management, and personal care as required
Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere: Promote a sense of safety, belonging, and well-being
Learn and grow: We are committed to ongoing professional development and will support you with training and qualifications, including QTS and HLTA opportunities

Requirements:

A valid DBS check
A full driving licence (preferred)
A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs
Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting learners
Experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
Experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
Experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)
