Job Description:

We are searching for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a state-of-the-art specialist school in Northstowe for a September start. This is a full-time, long-term position within a modern, inclusive environment designed specifically for students with complex needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and sensory processing differences.

Job Responsibility:

  • 1:1 Adaptive Support: Implement personalised learning plans
  • Communication Support: Facilitate social interaction using Makaton, PECS, or visual timetables
  • Sensory Regulation: Monitor environmental triggers and lead 'brain breaks' or sensory circuit activities
  • EHCP Evidence Gathering: Work with the Class Teacher to observe and record progress toward Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) milestones
  • Dignity-First Personal Care: Provide compassionate assistance with mobility, meal times, and personal hygiene

Requirements:

  • Transferable skills (experience in care, youth work, psychology, or sports coaching)
  • Compliance (enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to process one through Randstad)
