Job Description:

SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Selsey). Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Selsey. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by helping pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs thrive in a nurturing environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation
  • Support behaviour management using positive strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to create tailored support plans

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting (essential)
  • Understanding of SEN and behaviour management strategies
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive approach
  • A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
