Job Description:

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialized school in the beautiful setting of Lingfield. This school supports students with complex needs, including Autism (ASD), Speech & Language difficulties, and physical disabilities. We are looking for someone who sees the potential in every child and is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment.

Job Responsibility:

1:1 Personalized Support: Work closely with assigned students to help them engage with tasks at their own pace
Communication Support: Use tools like PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to help non-verbal or pre-verbal students express themselves
Sensory Regulation: Assist students in navigating the classroom environment, using sensory breaks and "calm zones" to manage anxiety
Promoting Independence: Encourage students to develop life skills and social confidence through collaborative play and group activities
Safety & Wellbeing: Maintain a high level of safeguarding and physical care, ensuring every child feels secure and valued

Requirements:

Previous experience with SEN (either in a school, care, or personal setting)
A calm, patient, and resilient nature
Ability to pivot approach based on a student's mood or sensory needs
A reliable professional who understands that consistency is key for students with additional needs
CACHE level 1 or 2
CACHE level 2 or 3
early childhood studies degree
health and social care experience
health and social care qualifications (NVQ)
HLTA
NVQ level 2
NVQ level 3
NVQ level 4
