Job Description

About the role: A specialist autism school in Birmingham is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting after May half term 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with autism and communication difficulties.

Job Responsibility

  • Support students with autism in both classroom and sensory settings
  • Assist with structured learning activities and routines
  • Promote communication and social interaction skills
  • Work alongside therapists and teaching staff
  • Support students during break times and school activities
  • Encourage independence and emotional wellbeing

Requirements

  • Experience working with autism or special educational needs
  • Understanding of sensory and communication needs
