2 SEN TAs needed immediately for a long-term role! Randstad is in search of a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in a wonderful school in St Albans. This role would suit an individual who wishes to work closely with Children needing additional support in the classroom in their learning and progress. This role can be perfect for someone looking for a new and exciting opportunity working in a local SEN school who has experience handling challenging behaviours. If you are an enthusiastic and talented person with relevant experience to work with children that have SEMH then this is your next long term role to start soon. This exciting opportunity would include assisting with lesson plans, providing extra assistance to children, and recording and reporting a child's progress to the teacher.
Job Responsibility:
Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
Lesson/work planning for the students you are working with
Utilise learning schemes in order to progress your student's learning
Report back to parents and teachers regarding the students progress
Supporting children's physical, social and emotional well-being
Completion of daily records for pupils
Classroom preparation for the following school day
Requirements:
Experience working with SEN pupils
An Enhanced child DBS on the update service
Legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available with this role)
Able to make an impression on both us and our client
Previous experience in Schools is preferred (must be able to provide 2 recent professional references)
Flexibly adhere to the needs of the children in a professional and friendly manner
Good classroom management skills
Managing challenging behaviour and supporting the class teacher
Ability to assist teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment for children with social, emotional and mental health needs
Nice to have:
health and social care experience
NVQ level 2 in children
