Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school team in Cranleigh. This is a highly rewarding role within the school's Inclusion department, focusing on students aged 11-16 with complex learning and emotional needs. This is a long-term to permanent position, offering you the stability of a consistent role with the opportunity to transition into a permanent contract.

Job Responsibility

  • Implement EHCPs and adapt curriculum resources to meet individual student targets
  • Provide high-quality 1-to-1 or small-group support to foster academic and social growth
  • Help students build the confidence and life-ready skills they need for adulthood
  • Use proactive de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a school setting
  • Prior experience supporting pupils with specific and complex SEN
  • Exceptional patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Available for an immediate start and able to work 5 days a week during term time
