SEN Teaching Assistant | Specialist Support | Local SEND Settings. Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. Join our specialist network as an SEN Teaching Assistant and provide the vital support needed to help students with additional needs thrive.

Job Responsibility

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to make learning accessible
  • Use sensory play, visual timetables, and personalised communication tools
  • Follow and implement EHCP goals
  • Adapt classroom activities
  • Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices
  • Act as a calm consistent presence
  • Recognise early signs of distress and use sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies
  • Work closely with Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists
