Randstad Education is seeking reliable supply Teaching Assistants to provide focused, 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs across welcoming mainstream primary schools in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Job Responsibility
Provide tailored 1:1 support to specific pupils during lessons, breaks, and transition periods
Adapt classroom activities on the spot to suit the pupil's specific learning, communication, or behavioural needs
Assist with emotional regulation and help the pupil navigate social situations in a mainstream environment
Maintain strong communication with the classroom teacher to provide feedback on the pupil's progress
Uphold school policies regarding safeguarding, inclusion, and behaviour management
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience working 1:1 or in small groups with primary-aged children with SEN (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, or SEMH)
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, confidently step into new classrooms, and build quick rapport with pupils
Communication: Excellent communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning (Level 2/3 NVQ) or special educational needs are desirable, but relevant experience is highly valued
Compliance: Must possess an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or be willing to process a new one through Randstad)
