Job Description:

Are you a compassionate, patient individual who believes that every child, regardless of their barriers, deserves an inspiring education? Join our specialist network as an SEN Teaching Assistant and provide the vital support needed to help students with additional needs thrive.

Job Responsibility:

  • Personalised Learning: Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities
  • Communication Support: Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices
  • Emotional Regulation: Act as a calm consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists

Requirements:

  • Exceptional Patience
  • Relevant Experience (school, care setting, personal experience with family, or volunteering with SEND charities)
  • Team Player
  • Committed (hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply
  • 100% dedicated to Safeguarding)
