Sen teaching assistant

• 1:1 Academic Support: break down classroom tasks into manageable steps, using visual aids and tactile resources
• Communication Enablement: support non-verbal or pre-verbal students using alternative communication methods such as PECS or Makaton
• Sensory & Physical Care: assist with sensory circuits and, where required, provide support with personal care or mobility
• Behavioral Coaching: use positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies to help students manage their emotions
• EHCP Progress Tracking: work closely with the Class Teacher to observe, record, and report on the specific targets outlined in a student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

• A "People First" Approach: see the child before the diagnosis and committed to championing their independence
• Resilience: ability to remain calm and proactive in a fast-paced environment
• Previous Experience: experience in SEN, care, youth work, or a similar background is highly valued
• Strong Communication: ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compliance: an enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
