Job Description:

Justteachers is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a special needs primary school in Northampton. This full-time position starts ASAP or January 2026 and continues throughout the academic year with potential for permanent placement. You’ll support pupils aged 4–11 with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the class teacher with tailored learning activities
  • Support individual pupils with communication and engagement
  • Help maintain routines, behaviour, and personal care where needed
  • Use visuals and assistive tools to aid understanding
  • Contribute to a calm and positive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Experience in education or care settings
  • Empathetic, reliable, and proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to get one
  • Two references within the last two years from a relative field.
