We are seeking dedicated SEND Specialists to work with students across all ages who have a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This role is perfect for those who value connection over curriculum and celebrate the unique progress of every individual learner.
Job Responsibility:
Work 1:1 or in small groups to make learning accessible, using sensory play, visual timetables, and personalised communication tools
Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities to meet the specific sensory and cognitive needs of the student
Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices
Act as a calm consistent presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies to support the student's wellbeing
Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development and safety
Requirements:
Non Teaching
Exceptional patience
Relevant experience from school, care setting, personal experience, or volunteering with SEND charities
Must be a team player
Must be committed
Must hold enhanced DBS on update service (or willing to apply)
