As a Teaching Assistant in our Cranleigh school, you will help create a positive learning environment, offer individual support to pupils, particularly those with SEND, and assist staff with preparation and record-keeping.
Job Responsibility:
Helping students communicate using Makaton, signs, symbols or communication aids through a multi-sensory approach
Providing guidance when students feel anxious, emotional or frustrated and supporting them to manage their feelings and behaviour
Working as part of a skilled, dedicated and supportive team with comprehensive training and mentoring
Support with core subjects (literacy, numeracy, PSHE) and daily living skills
Requirements:
A patient, caring and positive attitude
A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience working with children in a school setting
Nice to have:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children is desirable
