Job Description:

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school community in Lingfield. This is a long-term role perfect for an educator who takes pride in 'anticipating the needs of the classroom' and providing bespoke support for children with diverse learning requirements.

Job Responsibility:

Care Plan Implementation: Understanding and following individual EHCPs and care plans to ensure every child's medical and behavioral needs are met
Proactive Preparation: Preparing sensory resources and lesson materials in advance to help the teacher focus on delivery
Adaptive Communication: Using a 'nurturing and soft voice' when needed, or providing firm 'incentives' to keep students engaged and motivated
Team Synergy: Working collaboratively with the teaching team, recognizing when to step in or when to 'tag-team' with a colleague to best support a child's progress
Predictable Routines: Utilizing visual timetables and 'First/Then' structures to help students manage transitions and understand the school day

Requirements:

Experience in SEN: A background in supporting children with autism (ASD), ADHD, or complex learning needs
The 'Senior' Mindset: Someone who puts in the 'extra effort' to understand the 'blind spots' in a child's learning and adapts their approach accordingly
Safeguarding Excellence: A professional who understands the importance of the 'No Secrets' rule and follows statutory reporting lines to the DSL
Reliability: A committed individual who can maintain the 8:30 am - 3:30 pm schedule to provide the consistency these children need
