Job Description

Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant | Lead the Way in a Brand-New Provision. Are you an experienced SEN practitioner looking for a fresh challenge where your expertise is truly valued? We are seeking high-calibre Teaching Assistants to join our founding team at a brand-new SEND Secondary School in Chaldon, Surrey. Having opened in September 2025, this school specialises in supporting students aged 11-16 with complex social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs. This is your chance to move away from 'one-size-fits-all' education and apply your skills within a bespoke, high-support environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Curriculum Adaptation: Use your creative approach to adjust learning activities and reinforce concepts in line with individual student profiles
  • Behavioural Leadership: Support positive behaviour through a tailored, solution-focused approach, adapting your responses to meet escalations with professional calm
  • Collaborative Practice: Act as a key link between the Class Teacher, parents, and external professionals, ensuring progress is recorded and communicated effectively
  • Mentorship: Contribute to the community life of the school and engage in reflective practice to further your own professional development

Requirements

  • Level 2 award (or higher) in supporting teaching and learning
  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Previous experience within a relevant SEND provision
  • Firm grasp of Safeguarding, PREVENT, and the principles of promoting independence in an inclusive setting
  • Flexible, solution-focused, and capable of meeting the physical demands of an active SEND environment
  • Experience in administering medication
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorders
