SEN Classroom support assistants required ASAP! Randstad Education is seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants who are dedicated and passionate about dealing with special needs children and young people. This role is available to start post Easter at a wonderful specialist school located in Hitchin. This position requires at least 6 months of experience working with SEN/children.
Job Responsibility:
Work with pupils on a one to one basis or in small groups
Support the teacher to deliver informative and engaging lessons
Support students with behaviour that is challenging
Prepare for lessons (e.g. preparing resources, putting out equipment)
Support with some of the pupils' additional care needs (e.g. feeding, toileting)
Support the children in completing day to day tasks around the classroom and with their learning
Ensure that pupils are safeguarded and supported
Requirements:
Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
2 recent professional references
Experience with behaviours that are challenging
A calm & caring personality
A strong and resilient personality and be committed to pupils development
Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills
Team Teach trained - or willing to attend training
