Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support pupils with complex learning needs, assisting in both academic and social development. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support pupils with complex learning and communication needs in the classroom and during other school activities
  • Implement individualized learning plans and strategies under the guidance of teachers and therapists
  • Assist with personal care and daily routines as required, ensuring dignity and respect for all pupils
  • Promote positive behavior and support social and emotional development
  • Contribute to the creation of a stimulating and creative learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to monitor pupil progress and adapt support strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports as needed

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with complex learning needs, PMLD, ASD, or ADHD is highly desirable
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, flexible approach to challenges
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
