Job Description:

Working as a Teaching Assistant may be the role for you. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Teaching Assistant team. You will be part of our specialist SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) team, which is dedicated to delivering the correct support to individual students. We can offer you a high degree of flexibility around working days and you will only be working during term-time. This is a fulfilling role where you get to make a very real difference to the lives of individual students. The role also offers a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, a two-week October half-term break, access to a state-of-the-art fitness suite, and convenient on-site parking. Students with SEND are at the heart of our academy, and this role is pivotal in ensuring that some of our most vulnerable learners are fully supported to thrive and succeed. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support learning both in the classroom and in small group or one-to-one settings. You will play an important role in helping students engage with their learning, build confidence, and help students to make positive progress across the curriculum.

Job Responsibility:

  • Working collaboratively with subject teachers to ensure students' progress in individual subjects
  • Working with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Acting as a positive role model both socially and academically
  • Helping to foster and develop positive relationships with staff and peers
  • Being flexible to meet the dynamic needs of the SEND department on a daily basis
  • Identifying personal training needs and attending appropriate internal and external training
  • Being involved in maintaining records, undertaking assessment and evaluating identified students' needs
  • Ensuring inclusive practice and equality of opportunity for all

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting
  • Previous Teaching Assistant or similar educational support experience
  • Be patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to supporting the academic and personal development of young people
  • A passion for the importance of learning
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Further education relating to learning & development needs for SEND students
What we offer:
  • Pension scheme
  • Two-week October half-term break
  • Access to a state-of-the-art fitness suite
  • Convenient on-site parking
