Join Our Team as a Teaching Assistant near Guildford. Location: Cranleigh, Surrey. Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (£20,941.63 - £22,834.95 actual salary), based on experience and qualifications. Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only. The school we are supporting is an independent special day school providing a highly specialised learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and associated challenges. Their students often have complex medical needs and sensory or physical impairments, requiring individualised, specialist support to manage sensory overload, anxiety, low self-esteem, low confidence, and transition difficulties. They boast exceptional facilities and a dedicated therapeutic team, creating a nurturing environment where students can thrive.
Job Responsibility
Support students' learning, development, and progress across various contexts, including the classroom, local environment, and community settings
Assist students with PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism in achieving their educational and personal goals
Foster an environment that promotes equality, diversity, and the rights of all students
Emphasise support and empowerment of young people
Deepen your understanding of Special Education issues and embody the school's values in all aspects of your role
Provide high-quality support, which may include physical intervention and personal care routines
Requirements
Teaching assistant experience
Educated to at least Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English
