We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a range of welcoming and supportive school settings. Whether you have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker, Care Worker, or Sports Coach, we would love to hear from you. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and other additional learning needs, alongside those who are confident in managing challenging behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment. A background in sports coaching is highly desirable, as it provides valuable transferable skills in behaviour management, communication, motivation, teamwork, and pupil engagement.
Job Responsibility
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and reaching their full potential
Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons
Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive outcomes
Support pupils with social, emotional, and academic development
Encourage confidence, independence, and participation in classroom activities
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people
Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Sports coaching, youth work, care, mentoring, or support work experience is advantageous
A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them succeed
