Randstad is seeking an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and unique school in Horsham. You'll be instrumental in helping young learners who may exhibit challenging behaviors and nonverbal learning difficulties, guiding them through tailored learning plans in both individual and group settings.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide targeted support to students with diverse special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and those recovering from brain injury
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies, fostering a positive and safe learning environment
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the unique needs of nonverbal learners, ensuring their engagement and progress
  • Work hand-in-hand with teachers and other specialists to create cohesive and supportive learning plans
  • Maintain meticulous records of student development, celebrating their achievements and tracking progress
  • Offer personal care and hygiene assistance with dignity and respect, as required
  • Embrace continuous learning through on-the-job training and professional development opportunities
  • Actively contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued

Requirements:

  • At least 6 month to 1 year of experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism, brain injury, and complex needs
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors and adapt teaching strategies for nonverbal learners
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, staff, and parents
  • A true understanding and commitment to supporting students with disabilities
  • A positive, can-do attitude ready to tackle challenges creatively
  • Pass grade in GCSE Maths and English
