Join a brand-new independent specialist school, dedicated to empowering 30 secondary-aged pupils (11-16 years) with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Situated in a stunning, recently refurbished residential setting, our school features modern facilities and exceptional resources. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support to our secondary-aged students. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering dynamic and engaging lessons
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to student needs
  • Monitor student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Cultivate a safe, supportive, and positive classroom atmosphere
  • Collaborate effectively with a talented and passionate teaching team
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families
  • Contribute to our positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements:

  • A valid UK driving licence is essential
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH needs is preferred
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Key Skills: Behaviour Management
  • Individualised Learning Plans
  • Professional Knowledge of SEMH needs and secondary education
