SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary. (Special Educational Needs) Location: Merseyside Area Salary: £95.00 - £115.00 per day (Experience Dependent) Contract: Full-Time, Term Time (08:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday) The Opportunity: Make a Real Difference. Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to remove barriers to learning? We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with students with diverse needs, including autism and complex learning requirements, ensuring every child feels safe, included, and empowered to grow.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes self-esteem, independence, and social interaction
  • Promote positive behaviour using established school techniques
  • Collaborate with the SENDco and teaching staff to monitor, record, and report on pupil achievement and progress
  • Ensure the safety of all pupils, providing assistance with personal care or mobility where required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working in UK schools or a care giving capacity (Special Education/Autism experience highly preferred)
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
