We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Primary Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming school community in Cornwall. This role is integral to our commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 2 pupil aged 6 who has experienced behaviour challenges, supporting their reintegration into the classroom following a period of exclusion. The role involves morning support sessions, initially three hours daily, with a gradual increase in hours to a full day, reflecting our personalised approach to education and student wellbeing. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a school that values kindness, respect, and holistic development.
Job Responsibility
Provide targeted support to a Year 2 pupil, focusing on behavioural management and social-emotional development in line with the school's inclusive ethos
Support the pupil during specific times in the classroom, initially for three hours each morning, gradually increasing support hours by 15 minutes weekly until the pupil attends a full day
Assist the class teacher in preparing and adapting learning resources to meet the individual needs of the pupil and the wider class
Support the pupil’s participation in classroom activities, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment
Promote positive behaviour strategies consistent with the school's values, encouraging independence and confidence
Monitor and record the pupil’s progress and behaviour, providing feedback to the classroom teacher and SENCO as required
Foster a caring, respectful relationship with the pupil, modelling the school's values and promoting inclusion
Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to support the pupil’s ongoing development and wellbeing
Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming classroom environment that aligns with the school's ethos of kindness, respect, and community
